ZHC LAB’s Aluminum Reaction Blocks replace messy, hazardous oil baths with a clean, safe dry-bath heating solution compatible with standard round-top hotplate stirrers. Each block is machined from solid aluminum alloy with a 130 mm outer diameter, fitting directly onto any hotplate stirrer with a >=130 mm circular top plate – including IKA, SCILOGEX, Corning, and most other major brands – without adapters or base plates. The non-magnetic aluminum construction provides excellent, uniform heat transfer to all wells simultaneously without interfering with the hotplate’s magnetic stirring field, allowing simultaneous heating and stirring of all samples. Available in three form factors to suit different vessel types: Disc blocks accommodate multiple vials in a single circular format; Flask blocks cradle round-bottom flasks for direct, even conductive heating; Quarter blocks are wedge-shaped segments that can be combined in sets of four on one hotplate, enabling mixed vessel sizes in a single run. Maximum operating temperature 450deg C.

USAGE NOTES: Disc and Flask blocks place directly onto any circular hotplate top >=130 mm – no adapter required. Quarter Blocks require a compatible B-type base tray (sold separately) to hold all four segments together on the hotplate. For Flask blocks, secure the flask neck with a retort stand clamp during operation. Allow block to cool fully before handling bare-handed; use heat-resistant gloves or insulated tongs when hot. Place individual PTFE stir bars in each vessel for simultaneous stirring. Not compatible with square-top hotplates without a circular adapter. Clean with dry cloth or mild solvent wipe; do not immerse.
