ZHCLAB Glass Scintillation Vials provide consistent, low-background performance for liquid scintillation counting, gamma counting, chromatography, and general sample storage applications. Manufactured from low-extractable borosilicate glass with a thermal expansion coefficient of 33, conforming to USP Type I and ASTM E438 Type I, Class A requirements.
## Key Features
**Low-Extractable Borosilicate Glass**
Manufactured from low-extractable borosilicate glass meeting USP Type I and ASTM E438 Type I, Class A standards. Background counts are consistent and low, with high ultraviolet transmission for reliable light signal transfer during scintillation counting.
**Aluminum Foil Lined Cap**
Each vial is assembled with a screw cap fitted with an aluminum foil liner. The aluminum foil liner provides superior chemical resistance against organic solvents commonly used in scintillation cocktails, preventing cap degradation, vapor transmission, and sample loss during extended counting runs or storage. Cap tops are smooth and markable for easy sample identification. Available in two cap materials: polypropylene (PP, clear) and urea (UREA, white) – both fitted with aluminum foil liners.
**Precise Dimensional Tolerances**
Careful attention to wall thickness, vial diameter, and height ensures smooth loading into all standard liquid scintillation counters without jamming or misalignment, and consistent counting geometry across every vial in a batch.
**Cellular Tray Packaging**
Vials are pre-assembled with caps and packed in cellular trays with alphanumeric coordinates for fast, accurate sample identification. Tray packaging minimizes breakage during shipping and maintains cleanliness before use.
**Broad Instrument Compatibility**
Compatible with all major liquid scintillation counters accommodating standard 20mL vial formats, including PerkinElmer, Hidex, Beckman Coulter, and other industry-standard instruments. Also suitable for chromatography fraction collection and general analytical laboratory sample storage.

## Usage Notes
Use with aluminum foil lined caps when working with toluene-based, xylene-based, or other aromatic organic scintillation cocktails – the foil liner prevents solvent vapor transmission and cap degradation that can occur with PE-lined caps under extended organic solvent exposure. Caps should be finger-tightened firmly – do not overtighten. Compatible with all standard liquid scintillation counters accommodating 20mL vial format.
