PTFE Magnetic Stir Bar Retriever

ZHC LAB’s PTFE Magnetic Stir Bar Retrievers are designed for safe, contamination-free recovery of magnetic stir bars from reaction vessels, beakers, flasks, and other laboratory containers. Each retriever features a strong permanent magnet fully encapsulated in high-purity PTFE, providing complete chemical inertness against concentrated acids, bases, and organic solvents while maintaining a non-stick, easily cleanable surface. Available in three configurations to suit different vessel geometries and access requirements: the Standard rigid rod is ideal for direct vertical retrieval from open-top vessels; the Flexible rod can be bent to any angle for retrieval from narrow-neck or side-access containers; and the Coiled Ring design maximizes contact area for retrieving multiple stir bars simultaneously from wide-mouth vessels. All configurations are resistant to high temperatures and autoclavable for sterilization.

Standard / 10 inch (250 mm): rigid PTFE-coated rod with embedded magnet; recommended for beakers and flasks up to 250 mL
Standard / 12 inch (300 mm): rigid PTFE-coated rod; recommended for standard round-bottom and Erlenmeyer flasks up to 500 mL
Standard / 16 inch (400 mm): rigid PTFE-coated rod; recommended for large-volume vessels and glovebox retrieval
Flexible / 12 inch (300 mm): bendable PTFE rod; adjustable angle for narrow-neck bottles, side-access vessels, and hard-to-reach positions
Coiled Ring / 16 inch (400 mm): ring-shaped PTFE-coated magnet end; for simultaneous retrieval of multiple stir bars from wide-mouth vessels
Material: high-purity PTFE encapsulation over stainless steel rod with permanent magnet tip
Temperature range: up to 260deg C

COMMON APPLICATIONS: Recovery of PTFE magnetic stir bars from reaction flasks, beakers, and media bottles after stirring; contamination-free stir bar handling in chemical synthesis, pharmaceutical preparation, and biological workflows; retrieval from corrosive or hazardous solutions without direct contact; glovebox and inert atmosphere stir bar management; general laboratory stir bar storage and transfer.

USAGE NOTES: Insert retriever into the vessel and allow the magnet tip to attract the stir bar before withdrawing. For the Flexible model, bend the rod to the desired angle before insertion – avoid repeated sharp bending at a single point to preserve rod integrity. For the Coiled Ring model, insert the ring end into the vessel and sweep to collect multiple stir bars. Rinse with water or appropriate solvent after each use; PTFE surface is non-stick and easy to clean. Do not use near strong external magnets during storage as prolonged exposure may affect magnet strength.
