Stainless Steel Keck Clips, Metal Joint Clips for Ground Glass Joints, 10-Pack
ZHC LAB’s Stainless Steel Keck Clips provide a higher-strength, higher-temperature alternative to plastic joint clips for securing standard taper ground glass joints in laboratory glassware assemblies. Each clip is stamped from stainless steel sheet, delivering superior clamping force and resistance to deformation under thermal cycling compared to polymer clips. Stainless steel construction tolerates temperatures well above the 100deg C limit of plastic clips, making these the preferred choice for high-temperature reactions, open-flame heating, and repeated autoclave or oven cycling. Each pack contains 10 clips of a single size.
DIMENSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
14 mm: fits 14/20 and 14/35 standard taper ground glass joints; 10 clips per pack
19 mm: fits 19/22 and 19/26 standard taper ground glass joints; 10 clips per pack
24 mm: fits 24/29 and 24/40 standard taper ground glass joints; 10 clips per pack
29 mm: fits 29/32 and 29/40 standard taper ground glass joints; 10 clips per pack
Material: stainless steel sheet, stamped and formed
Temperature range: suitable for high-temperature laboratory use
COMMON APPLICATIONS: Securing ground glass joints in high-temperature distillation and reflux setups where plastic clips may soften or deform; stabilizing connections in Schlenk lines and vacuum manifolds requiring robust clamping force; use in setups involving open-flame or mantle heating above 100deg C; repeated autoclaving or oven sterilization cycles; any application where greater mechanical security than plastic clips is required.
USAGE NOTES: Select the clip size matching the outer diameter of your ground glass joint. Insert the clip around the joint connection and press firmly until seated; stainless steel clips require slightly more force to install and remove than plastic clips due to higher spring stiffness. Note that stainless steel clips may corrode on prolonged exposure to concentrated hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid, or other halogenated acids – for highly corrosive environments, use plastic Keck clips instead. Rinse and dry after use in corrosive environments to extend service life.
