Double Burette Clamp, Butterfly Style, Spring-Loaded Jaws with Rubber Pads
ZHC LAB’s Double Burette Clamp holds two burettes or glass tubes simultaneously on a standard laboratory support rod. The butterfly-style body features two independently spring-loaded jaw assemblies mounted on opposite sides of a central boss, each gripping a separate burette with consistent, even clamping pressure. Rubber jaw pads cushion the glass surface, prevent rotation, and reduce the risk of breakage from overtightening. A knurled tightening knob on the central boss secures the clamp to the support rod at any height and remains easy to operate with gloved hands. The spring-loaded quick-release lever on each jaw allows one-handed burette insertion and removal without loosening any hardware. Available in polypropylene plastic (lightweight, chemical resistant, 30 mm maximum jaw opening) and die-cast aluminum alloy (higher rigidity, 40 mm maximum jaw opening).
DIMENSIONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Plastic: overall 9.09 x 4.72 x 6.30 inch (231 x 120 x 160 mm), maximum jaw opening 1.18 inch (30 mm), holds burettes or tubes up to 30 mm OD
Aluminum Alloy: overall 9.72 x 4.72 x 6.73 inch (247 x 120 x 171 mm), maximum jaw opening 1.57 inch (40 mm), holds burettes or tubes up to 40 mm OD
Jaw lining: rubber protective pads, replaceable
Clamping style: butterfly, double-sided, spring-loaded with quick-release lever
Rod compatibility: fits standard support stand rods (verify rod diameter for compatibility)
Material options: polypropylene plastic or die-cast aluminum alloy
COMMON APPLICATIONS: Securing two burettes on a support stand during volumetric titrations in analytical chemistry and quality control laboratories; simultaneous or comparative titrations requiring side-by-side burette positioning; clamping glass condenser tubes, chromatography columns, or small-diameter laboratory glassware to support rods; educational and teaching laboratory general burette support and titration demonstrations.
USAGE NOTES: Slide the central boss onto the support rod and tighten the knurled knob to lock the clamp at the desired height. Press the spring-loaded release lever on each jaw, insert the burette, and release to engage the rubber-padded grip. Verify that the burette hangs vertically before beginning titration. The rubber pads distribute clamping force to minimize stress on the glass; do not apply additional force beyond the spring mechanism. Choose the plastic version for routine teaching use where chemical resistance and low weight are priorities, or the aluminum alloy version where greater rigidity is needed for heavier glassware. Clean with water or mild detergent. Replace rubber jaw pads if worn, hardened, or cracked to maintain secure grip and glass protection.
